Eberron Druid Quest

New Campaign in Eberron.  The Gatekeeper Druids sealed the Daelkyr in the Khyber a millennia ago.  After the sealing, the Druid council convened to plan for the future.  The Madness of the Daelkyr still seeped into the world and corrupted it.

The Druids made plans to continue the order in it's current state, but some Druids, led by Son Tahn'ah felt they should reach out to other like minded creatures, and expand the order to include not just Druids, but also Monks, Paladins, and certain warrior cleric orders who could focus and maintain the discipline to prepare for the inevitable future war.

Son Tahn'ah left the council to travel to the city and establish connections with those groups he felt were capable of aiding the Gatekeepers.  Shortly after he left other members of the council succumbed (etymology w. succubus?) to madness and the order became weakened and less organized.  But the bindings held.

After several hundred years, the lore said that Son Tahn'ah had been one of the victims of the madness.  That he had never returned was evidence that he had been turned or lost.

During the war, a Gatekeeper holy site was attacked, and successfully defended.  But the aftermath of the attack revealed a cache of new material that showed Son Tahn'ah had some initial success and had founded an order of monks, Seven Ninjas of the Sun.

As the threat from the Khyber grows, and the Gatekeepers strength fades, young Druids are being sent to investigate if this order of monks ever existed, if they survived a millennia, if they could aid and assist the Gatekeepers against the next Daelkyr invasion.  There is a fear that the order may have been corrupted and may be plotting to aid the invasion from the Khyber, if it did exist...

But the seven ninjas only know and defend a few seals, away from the Shadow March.  Having never had formal contact with the Gatekeepers the Ninjas may seem the Druids as enemies if they cross paths, and the Gatekeepers might likewise see the Seven Ninjas as enemies (and maybe they are corrupted?).

Game Concept

I'm thinking along the lines Indiana Jones -  Brotherhood of the Cruciform Sword, a secret society whose mission is to protect the Grail.

Name Origins - From Smooth by Santana:

Man, it's a hot one

Like seven inches from the midday sun

I heard Seven Ninjas from the Midday Sun... They hide in plain sight.
